Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge is a puzzle game of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The game features similar gameplay to it's predecessors, but introduces new Mini Toys such as Mini Rosalina, Mini Diddy Kong and Mini Bowser Jr., each with their own special abilities. In the United States, it was available for early access between March 25, 2016 and April 27, 2016, with the purchase of any amiibo figure at Amazon, Best Buy, or GameStop. The game was also released on the Club Nintendo on Japan in May 2, 2016. The game was released in North America on April 2016.

Funcionality[]
Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge is compatible with all amiibo. By placing a compatible Mario franchise figure, the player receives a toy of the corresponding character. Each figure has a special ability that it can use to complete stages more easily. All amiibo figures that do not have specific functionality with the game can be used to receive a Mini Spek, a simple toy with no special ability.
Certain stages have amiibo Doors, that need a specific toy to enter. These doors unlock special stages centered on the character of the door. Some stages also have amiibo Tokens, that can only be collected by using the abilities of a specific toy.
