Mario Party 10 (マリオパーティMario Pāti 10) is a party game for Wii U developed and published by Nintendo. It is the thirteenth installment in the Mario Party franchise, a party series featuring the cast from the Super Mario games. The main addition in this game is the Bowser Party mode, which allows the player to control Bowser with the Wii U GamePad.

Mario Party 10 will feature a dedicated amiibo Party mode alongside the traditional Party Mode and Bowser Party. In amiibo Party, players can use an amiibo as a game piece on a special board related to that character. For example; on the Mario Board, players might unlock a Super Mushroom that allows their piece to stomp the competition, or they can steal opponent's coins or stars using the Poltergust in Luigi's Board. Each character has a special trait that can be unlocked on one of these playable boards.

A special token can also be assigned to an amiibo that players can use during the game.

All other amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series grant an amiibo Bonus. Tapping any other amiibo to the Gamepad unlocks a Scratch Ticket, which unlocks Mario Party Points that can be used to buy many things within the game.

Trivia Edit

  • Even if you use a Super Smash Bros. series amiibo, your in-game piece will be a Super Mario series variant.
  • Even though Wario amiibo was confirmed among those that will read/write data from this title, the Compatibility chart in the official amiibo website states he has a "Read Only functionality" with Mario Party 10.
  • If the player uses the Gold or Silver Mario amiibo in amiibo Party, Mario's game piece will appear in gold or silver variations. However, in the minigames, he will appear with his normal colors.
    • This makes this game one of the few amiibo-compatible games which the Gold and Silver editions of Mario gives a extra bonus not present in the simple Super Mario series or Smash Bros. series editions.
