Bayonetta 2 is an action game released originally on the Wii U in 2014. The Switch port is similar to the original game, but with the addition of local wireless play and amiibo support.
amiibo functionality[]
When the player completes the prologue and enters the Gates of Hell, amiibo can be selected from the shop's main menu. By scanning amiibo, players can receive halos (in-game currency), healing items and stats boosts. Characters belonging to select amiibo series will have a special Rodin message, and a small number of amiibo will unlock themed costumes and weapons for Bayonetta or Jeanne to wear.
Up to 32 amiibo can be scanned daily. Each amiibo can only be scanned once per day, and all amiibo content can be obtained in-game. The quality of items and halos you can obtain from amiibo vary based on the the number of amiibo previously scanned on the same day.
- First amiibo scan: 4,000 Halos + Ingredients
- 1-4 amiibo scanned: 8,000 Halos + Ingredients / Lollipops
- 5-9 amiibo scanned: 12,000 Halos + Lollipops
- 10-19 amiibo previously scanned: 16,000 Halos + Red Hot Shot / Midas Testament / Mega Lollipops
- 20-31 amiibo previously scanned: 20,000 Halos + Red Hot Shot / Midas Testament / Mega Lollipops

Compatible amiibo can be used to unlock Couture Bullets - themed costumes that Bayonetta or Jeanne can wear that change the appearance of the character - or in some cases, their Wicked Weave attacks, special effects, and abilities.
